Charles Ryan joined as a non-executive director in 2011. With nearly three decades of experience in global finance, Ryan co-founded United Financial Group (UFG) and served as its Chairman and CEO starting in 1994. During his tenure at UFG, he established the New Technology Group within UFG Asset Management, which facilitated early-stage technology investments in prominent IT ventures in the CIS region. Following Deutsche Bank's acquisition of UFG's investment banking business in 2006, Ryan was appointed chief country officer and CEO of Deutsche Bank Group in Russia and remained in that position until the end of 2008, when he became chairman of UFG Asset Management. From 2008 through the end of 2010, Ryan was a consultant for Deutsche Bank.

Before co-founding UFG, Ryan held roles as an associate and principal banker at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development in London (1991– 1994), and as a financial analyst at CS First Boston (1989 – 1991). He is also a founder and general partner of Almaz Capital Partners, an international venture capital firm based in Silicon Valley, which facilitates the global expansion of promising startups. Ryan holds a degree in Government from Harvard University.

Ryan has been recognized by the Board of Directors as meeting the SEC criteria for an Audit Committee Financial Expert.
